Our goal is simple: we make sure that within a year you can make really good music productions and you know exactly how the music industry works. We teach you all the essential techniques and skills, you gain a lot of practical experience and your network expands. Apart from that, it's also just a top year that will give you a great deal for the rest of your life!
The Music Producer training takes one year, is part-time with super flexible scheduling of classes making it easy to combine with other activities/work. You have 3 to 6 hours of classes per week, free studio sessions and great networking opportunities and writer's camps.

MTM was founded for and by producers, music lovers and engineers. MTM has been around for a long time; the Music Producer course is 22 years of experience incorporated into one learning path. Up-to-date, to-the-point and honest. Not only do you get access to the best classes and teachers, but we also focus on networking, collaboration and building a cool community. A good track is one thing, but you still need a network to move forward.
We teach in a modern, personalized way. We specialize in all popular music styles such as techno, urban/hip-hop/trap/drill and edm, D&B, hard/rawstyle, house, pop, rock and film music. Just that versatility of styles provides a lot of inspiration and a cool vibe. So whether you make rock-hard techno or prefer to keep it quieter: we have top teachers/producers in house for all these genres!

Would you like to speak to a former student yourself? Just email; we'll put you in touch so you can hear for yourself what their experiences have been. Or come to an introduction; there are always students in the building you can ask questions of.

You no longer want to be dependent on studios, technicians, songwriters or labels but to control everything yourself.

Many students choose to work just behind the scenes. You can make music for others as a ghost producer, beatmaker or in programs or games, for example. You can sell (online) your services such as beats, presets, samples, mixing or mastering. Some stdents start their own studio to record, mix or master artists.

With your own music you are more likely to get booked for parties. And playing your own music is of course the most fun!

After training, start your own production studio: record, mix, master & produce for yourself and your clients.

Some, mostly younger students, want to go on to a conservatory, the HKU or HBA. We offer a very good preparation for this so that most students are actually accepted.

For some, producing music is just a really cool hobby they do in addition to their work. And that s totally fine: there s no nicer hobby s out there!
WHO IS THE MUSIC PRODUCER TRAINING FOR?
Our music producer training program is suitable for any motivated music producer. You can already produce to some extent but you run into one of these problems:
You can't get your music out of your head into your laptop properly
You have difficulty with mixing and mastering
You have trouble with sound design or are too dependent on presets
You never finish anything
You don't know enough people who also make/produce music
Your music never sounds the way you want it to
You lack understanding of music theory and songwriting
You lack understanding of your software, hardware and plugins
The Music Producer course aims to solve these problems, so that you will soon have tracks you are proud of, and you can start working in music with confidence. So if you are someone who wants to make big steps, this course is for you!
Suitable for all ages 16 and up. So even if you are a little older you can join in just fine!
As admission, we do a simple online audition where you have to submit a (piece of) song, and screenshots of your session. For really absolute beginners, we have the free MTM Kickstart tutorials or the MTM beginner module to get you all set for the music producer training. We only hire people who have already mastered some of the basics of producing. Having doubts about your level? Just take the audition; you'll have clarity within two days!
Suitable for all genres; we have really good teachers for every genre.
Very easy to combine with another education or full-time job. We have a very flexible schedule. So you can easily plan around your other activities.
Excellent preliminary training. For example, do you want to go to the conservatory or the HKU or HBA? Then your chances are significantly increased after this year.
We have expert teachers for almost all styles of music. You will not be taught by someone who thinks he can do everything himself, but by experts in your genre. Because every genre/music style is different and requires specific techniques.
WHAT'S IN THE CURRICULUM?
Our curriculum has been developed with care and expertise. We know from experience that only good lessons are not enough to achieve the best results. You also need optimal practice and cooperation. You want to be able to try out equipment and instruments. But also be able to network and learn from each other. All these necessary aspects we try to facilitate as much as possible in this training.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
A school week at Master The Mix Academy looks like this:
1 half-day lesson per week at a time of your choice: you can make your own schedule with us. Lessons can be taken during the day, evening or weekend.
4 hours of studio time per week. We expect you to be able to submit good tracks at some point, but we also know that not everyone has a good studio at their disposal right away. You can also use the studio time to collaborate (also with people from outside the program): something we motivate as much as possible!
about once a month a cool writers camp: making music together!
A fun group class once or twice a month
In addition: lots of making your own music, ear training, various assignments and studying our extensive online learning materials.

The price for the whole year including all extras such as studio time, writer's camps and master classes is €6870.
PAY IN INSTALLMENTS
There are two options:
1. If you register at least 3 months before the start you can pay in 16 monthly installments of € 429 from the time of registration.
2. In 13 monthly installments of € 375 from the start of classes with a deposit of € 1995 (payable one month before the start)
SUBSIDIES

To officially join the Music Producer course, you will first have to audition online. We do this by means of a form in which we ask a number of questions. Especially your motivation is important, and you need some experience with music production:
basic skills within your DAW
basic songwriting skills
You must an also submit a piece of music and a screenshot of your project. This does not have to be a high-quality masterpiece! The point is just that we can hear and see that you have the above basic skills.

We start 2 times a year in February and September.
Classes are held in our studios in Hilversum and Antwerp. Both close to the railway station.
The scheduling of classes and studio sessions is very flexible; you can schedule most of the classes yourself. We are open 7 days a week until 10 pm. Count on one half-day class per week, one half-day studio sessions, one writers camp, master class and zoom session per month. Plus, of course, excellent coaching and access to the online community.

Classes are taught in Dutch and English. So you can choose.

The part-time course "Music Producer" lasts one year. So if you start in February, you will finish by the end of January, and if you start in September, you will finish just before the summer vacations.

Our target group is very broad; therefore, we do not mandate everything. You will be with us at least one half-day per week. In addition, you can reserve the studios one half day a week, and you will have a greps class and writers camp about once a month.
We have a very comprehensive package of teaching materials, tutorials, ear training and online master classes. Count on at least an hour a day of homework, but here of course, the more you practice the faster you get better!
