PETKUN - HUE (INTERLUDE)
How did you start making music?
I started doing music in 2018, I heard "slow dancing in the dark" and immediately fell in love with the production. From there I started copying music from my favorite artists and trying to sound identical.
By copying the sounds of those artists, I ended up creating a mix from which my own style emerged.
Can you tell us a little more about the concept and inspiration behind "Hue (Interlude)"?
The concept of "HUE" is the principle that you don't want to live the way everyone else lives, a normal job, a 9 to 5 for 10 months and then go on vacation for a week. I found that it was "normal" to do that even though I didn't want to do that at all.
This song symbolizes the depression that comes from the "programmed" feeling of that life. The second part of the song symbolizes hope and the fact that you can live in your own way, and especially that you can do what you want.
What do you hope listeners experience or feel when they listen to "Hue (Interlude)"?
I hope that listeners can recognize themselves in "HUE" in any way. And especially that they will find something in it, that it evokes emotion or makes them think differently.
Can you tell us more about the recording and mixing sessions for "Hue (Interlude)"? Were specific choices made to achieve the desired sound?
"HUE" I completely sound-designed, produced, mixed, recorded and mastered. It was a long process with lots of learning moments and emotion but it worked out in the end.
What are your future plans as an artist? Is there any more music planned?
As an artist, I have now made my fire and release plans. I am now ready to show what I can do and who I am. Petkun has gone from something I was sometimes unsure about to something I look at with meta much pride. There is only more to come!
Petkun has already built a nice discography with impressive tracks including his latest single HUE (INTERLUDE). You can listen to it now on Spotify!
